Over the years, we’ve engaged with a variety of projects that include cultural exchanges, temprorary emergency housing, and apprenticeship programmes to provide migrants with alternative opportunities in New Zealand.
Projects:
Identifying service gap and finding solutions using the resources and expertise within the community
Promoting intercultural communication and competence- enabling NZ to thrive and prosper in this changing multicultural world.
Building bridges between NZ and China – enabling better understanding through cultural exchanges.
Emergency relief and going where help and support are needed
Providing emergency housing for those affected by the catastrophic event or a social emergency.
Construction work and apprenticeship- utilising the expertise within the organisation, we established an apprenticeship programme to provide alternative opportunity for those migrants with different set of qualifications.
For more than ten years, every year our Lion Dance Group has brought Chinese flavours and diversity to the annual Wellington Christmas Parade. Each year, we invite other groups in the community to join in , celebrating the festivity together regardless of race and religion.
This is an annual event (started since 2013) where sponsorship is provided to ten selected young New Zealanders to participate in an annual international exchange camp in Beijing , China. About 400 youths from more than 25 countries around the world participate each year. The aim is to promote international friendship and nurture global citizens. The international camp compliments the learning development of the young people, developing their awareness, knowledge, skills and strategies for effective intercultural communication.
